ReplyDeleteThanks man, I'm actually the "Bradley" commenting on that post 😁 Unfortunately, I still haven't found a road in Lake Geneva that I can definitively say is the road they used. Although, Swamp Angel Rd and Zenda Rd do look like they could have been the roads used for Joan's death.
DeleteCan you find the bird location? It's the most famous scene in the film and no one has bothered to find out where it is. Some dumbass on facebook did and then threw away the research notes and coordinates.
ReplyDeleteNo, unfortunately I still can't pinpoint the exact road or location where it was filmed. However, it was definitely filmed just a few miles south of Geneva Lake.
DeleteBird Attack on County Road B, Lake Geneva, WI. My Great Aunt & Uncle worked and lived at William Holden's Home in Palm Springs, CA. I visited there in 1975.

DeleteAny update? The scene looks like it could have been filmed in the Nashotah and/or Delafield areas of WI, but they are close to an hour-and-a-half north of Lake Geneva and so probably don't make sense.
DeleteSorry for the long delay Chip. The Bird Attack/Farm/Car Breakdown sequence is quite the confusing mess, as it was filmed in two totally different locations. The Farm/Car breakdown location has been found, as you can see from my updates to this page. The majority of the Bird Attack sequence seen in the final film was a reshoot however, just outside of Los Angeles, as the original Illinois location filming of the Bird Attack was deemd not usable. So the bird attack location still remains a mystery, but it is located near LA, not in Wisconsin/Illinois as originally thought.
